We recommend feeding ¼ to ½ cup per day to adult ferrets split over two to three meals. Feeding rates will vary depending upon the age, sex, and weight. These recommendations should be adjusted based upon your ferret’s body condition, health condition, life stage, activity and environment temperature. Remove uneaten food and clean food dish before refilling with new food. Always maintain fresh drinking water for your pet ferret.
For kits, feed free-choice before and after weaning. Kits start to eat solid food at three to four weeks of age and should have free access to moistened and dry food until weaning. Pregnant and lactating females (Jills) should be offered at least two to three times the amounts shown in the table.
