Instructions
- Give 40-200 grams daily, depending on life stage and health status. Ensure all the food is eaten. Always give fresh water.
- Diet transition When changing your bird onto a new food it is important to do this gradually over several days. If your bird is already on a seed-based diet, over a few days mix some old food in with Beaphar XtraVital Parrot to give your bird time to adjust to the new food. Some birds do not require a changeover period and will readily accept the new food.
- Alternatively, if you are changing your bird from a pelleted diet to a seed-based diet, this may need to be done over several weeks to ensure your bird accepts the new style of food. If you are unsure how to do this then please follow the schedule for transition below as a guide.
- The daily amount of Beaphar XtraVital Parrot to give your bird is dependent upon age, size and health. The below information is a guide, so you may need to adjust the feeding amounts to suit your bird's requirements. Schedule for transition
Week one: Feed approximately 25% of Beaphar XtraVital mixed with approximately 75% of their existing seed-based food. Week two: Feed approximately 50% of Beaphar XtraVital mixed with approximately 50% of their existing seed-based food. Week three: Feed approximately 75% of Beaphar XtraVital mixed with approximately 25% of their existing seed-based food. Week four: If your bird is happily eating Beaphar XtraVital then you can stop mixing their existing seed-based food in.
For some birds you may need to continue the transition process for longer. Always have fresh drinking water available. The daily required amount is dependent upon weight, life stage and health. Measure out the right amount of food daily to prevent selective eating behaviour: Give 40-200 grams daily, depending on life stage and health status. Make sure the animals eat all ingredients. Regularly check your bird’s weight to ensure you are feeding enough. Schedule for transition
